Open Office has done a good job of handling formatting from MS Word
documents. My resume for instance has multiple columns and apparently
weird fonts and I've never managed to pull it up in Abiword ungarbled.
HOWEVER if you want to use Open office you have to start the application
the night before and when you come back in the morning it'll just be
pulling up. Also Abiword has a clean fast interface and is generally just
more pleasant.
You guys have done a great job and I will only use other word processors
when I absolutely have to.

>> Hi, maybe I shouldn't do it, especially on this mailing list, but I
would like to strongly recommend you OpenOffice Writer instead of
Abiword. If you already didn't know, you can get it from
>> http://www.openoffice.org. The package is completely free
>> (open-source), multiplatform, multilingual and believe me, it's FAR
BETTER than Abiword. Best regards!
